Nicki Minaj Performs "Starships" on American Idol

With just five days until Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded drops, Nicki Minaj took the “Idol” stage last night

for an electric performance of her pop smash “Starships." There’s been mixed feelings about the RedOne-produced single, including those of Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg, who criticized the Barbz for no longer being hip-hop. Still, that hasn’t stopped it from reaching the top 10, and judging by this performance, it’s not stopping her either. Roman Reloaded takes over on Tuesday. —Stephanie Long
