Chief Keef, welcome to the new school of hip-hop!

MTV is reporting that on Saturday, June 16, Keef signed the dotted line in a deal with Interscope Records—just hours before taking the stage at Birthday Bash with T.I.

In an exclusive comment, he told RapFix that, "I've been talkin' to a lot of labels, but I just noticed that Interscope got people like 50 [and] Eminem." Speaking on why he ultimately chose to sign a publishing deal with Dr. Dre, he said "[Interscope] was talkin' good to me. They was talkin' like I was talkin' and I liked that. All these other labels, I was talkin' to 'em, but it's time anyway for me and I'm goin' with Interscope."

Chief Keef was rumored to have been approached by Cash Money, Def Jam, Bad Boy, and potentially G.O.O.D. Music following Kanye West's remix of Keef's claim-to-fame hit "I Don't Like."
